| Though I new Harry only by sight (reasonably presentable) and reputation (sterling) as a Cadet, in our encounters since graduation I came to love him like the brother I never had. Humorously curmudgeonly in discourse yet highly convivial withal, Harry represented the best that is America and the Class of 1965. In particular, all of us who love USMA and value our classmates owe Harry an eternal debt for all he did for our class and the Academy, tirelessly and largely without acknowledgment by the vast mass of Strength and Drive. May he get a corner table at the bar in Fiddler's Green, and wherever he is seated, each of us can be sure of a warm welcome and a stirrup cup of excellent punch when we arrive. Happy landings, Harry! We'll miss you. |
