| Denny and I were in Company I-2 for our Cow and Firstie years. We hit it off quite well and discovered we were both from Wisconsin. We were part of a close group of company mates that included Tommy Thompson,Chuck Burghart, Don Nowland, and Bob Axley. We did a great deal together, to include seeing almost every weekday movie, even the real dumb ones, during Firstie year. I enjoyed connecting with Denny again at Ft. Knox in 1968-69 before he left the Army to go to grad school. He was so proud of his family and doted on his son. I did not connect with him again until our 50th reunion, where we were able to somewhat catch up on what had happened since we parted. I was so looking forward to seeing him again next year. He was a good man who will be sorely missed. |
