| Frank and I were classmates and in the same platoon during Beast Barracks, aptly named for the challenging and rigorous conditions we all endured. Despite the stress, Frank maintained his 'cool' and set a poised example for us. We ended up in the same company after the summer so we had occasion to continue our friendship. He always maintained a positive, chipper attitude about our plight, something I admired and appreciated as one with an Irish background. I'm representing the class at the end of the month as part of the Affiliation Program and will be welcoming new cadets of the Class of 2015 and their parents to West Point 27 June, as the young men and women begin their transition to cadet life. I shall remember him fondly and toast him tonight, as he would deem it appropriate. May he rest in peace. |
