Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Pat Kenny on April 19, 2018:

Dick was my final roommate at West Point. In addition to being my roommate we also stood next to each other in the bass section of the Glee Club. Somewhere within that mix I met his wonderful wife Beth. While Alice and I were never stationed with Dick and Beth we kept in touch to include two memorable weekends in 1968, one in Bad Toltz Germany where Dick was assigned as a member of the Special Forces, and another Berchtesgaden. . On a business trip to Vicksburg almost 30 years ago Dick, Beth and I got together for a fish dinner at a restaurant overlooking the might Mississippi, a most enjoyable dinner. The last time we were together was at our 45th class reunion. Once again we stood next to each other as part of the impromptu '65 choir for that occasion. Just as he had 45 years prior Dick, with his wonderful singing voice, led me along. Dick was a wonderful person and I'm very saddened by his passing. Alice joins me in extending our most sincere condolences to Beth and their children and extended family. Your work on earth was indeed well done be thou at peace.
