Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Tom Kovach on February 17, 2013:

Jerry and I were roommates for one semester during our third year at West Point. And although we spent two years together in Cadet Company A-1, I did not really get to know Jerry as well as I did some of my other company mates. Jerry was a quiet guy with a dry sense of humor. He always seemed to be in control and never panicked as some of us tended to do.

He was awarded the nickname of "The Mole" for his late-night, after-taps excursions into the tunnels beneath the West Point grounds. I seeem to recall that he invited me along one evening, but I declined. I was somewhat of a daring type, but not that daring.

Jerry, I am unforgivenly tardy in writing this remembrance. Duty well done; rest in peace.
