Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Hugh Kelley on November 27, 2011:

In January, 1967, while serving with the 173rd Airborne Brigade, I was wounded in a firefight and subsequently evacuated to the Army hospital at Camp Zama, Japan where I ran into Bob who was recovering from wounds received in action while assigned to a sister battalion in the 173rd (1st Bn 503rd Infantry). Due to the dispersed nature of operations, we did not know we were in the same brigade. Bob's wounds were much more difficult than mine and his recovery was painful. Despite his ordeal (and ordeal it was), Bob never lost his sense of humor and was always good company.
