Be Thou At Peace

| I probably will not be able to attend the services at West Point, but not for a lack of desire. I knew Denny only during our cadet days. I liked him and I respected him. More often than not he would meet me with an engaging, sincere smile. He seemed to fit in well with everyone, his teammates and those, like me, of far lesser talents. The shock of his passing was difficult coming so soon after the hope. To his family and those close I offer my condolences. He and I were not the closest of friends, but Denny is one I will definitely miss seeing at future gatherings. From my personal memories of him and what I have since learned of his life I am proud to have shared some time with him. He stood out to me while we were cadets and he will always stay fondly in my memory. |
