Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Ray Paske on April 28, 2020:

Dear Mary and all the Johnson Family - the loss of our brothers, John and Oliver brings into focus the reality of how fragile and beyond our control our journey is in this life. We all know that the phrase 'A Life Well Lived' could not be more appropriate upon reflecting where these marvelous men have travelled. It also comes to my mind how blessed and fortunate I feel to have known them and learned what it truly means to be 'men for all seasons'. It is a rare gift to feel so enriched by being part of their lives.
Now that they have gone home, they leave behind a legacy and memories not just that I hold close and cherish, but a belief that all with whom they had contact have grown and become bigger, better human beings. There is a certain joy that comes with the memories of our shared experiences as schoolmates, teammates, brothers in the service and dear friends. And for that, I cannot feel more blessed and thankful.
To you and your family, I hope there can be some sense peacefulness to comfort you as you reflect on these beautiful lives we all shared.
God bless.
