Be Thou At Peace

| Scotty and I roomed together Cow year, and it was an enjoyable year with him as a roommate. Scotty was a Corps squad soccer player and a lover of the game. His eyes were fixed on being commissioned in the Air Force but unfortunately for Scotty things did not work out as he had hoped and he was commissioned an Artillery lieutenant. Upon his departure from the Army Scotty attended law school at Temple University in the early 70's while I was stationed in Philadelphia we met periodically for lunch. Scotty was from Connecticut and a true fan of the University of Connecticut, UConn, and it was probably thrilling for him to watch UConn win the NCAA Basketball National Championship less than 2 weeks before he passed. While he seemed to have little interest in mingling with classmates it is unfortunate that he did not realize the significant number of classmates that wanted to share time with him. He was a good person. |
