| Got to know Steve when we worked for different companies but both lived near Brussels, Belgium. We sort of bonded because we were each in heavily-criticized industries: he manufactured cigarettes in Holland, I marketed saw chain for chainsaws in Europe and Africa. Steve had a big boat of a car, a BMW 750, and we had a great time going to Mons in that thing for Founder's Day. Steve had such an endearing personality; he was a fine friend. Years later, my son took a job near Richmond and Steve was more than ready to offer housing advice and general local knowledge. That willingness to help was typical of Steve. |
