Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Thomas J. kelly on October 6, 2015:

I had the privilege of attending the USMA prep school with Dave. We were both in the 1st platoon but were in different barracks, me in C-7 and Dave in C-6. Dave was a sharp cadet candidate and did well in academics as well. He always had a wry smile on his face and was ready to have fun or work hard for the team. I dug out the old prep school year book from 1961 and looked at his picture and looked at what he wrote in it when I asked for his signature. What the printed inscription said was " Man of the world, home is where his shoes are and he loves it. Hobbies: Bowling, golf, and WOMEN" So when he signed my book he crossed out bowling and wrote in women, so it now read Hobbies: women, golf and WOMEN! That was Dave a fantastic sense of humor. You are a loss to us all but can be proud of what you accomplished, a great life, a fantastic family and a legacy that will live on. Well done my friend.
