Be Thou At Peace

What can I say........

I only knew Spot for a short time over the summer of 1963 when we briefly roomed together at West Point while preparing to assume our summer cadet duties as the training cadre for the incoming new cadets during Beast Barracks. However, Spot's kindness, thoughtfulness, and generosity of spirit in inviting me, a relative stranger, to accompany him on a weekend trip to Westport, CT to visit his girlfriend and her family will never be forgotten. We stayed at his girlfriend's beautiful home on the bay in Westport and had a wonderful time. Spot's simple act of friendship and camaraderie at that time in my life, albeit over a few weeks, will always hold a special place in my heart and reflect volumes about his giving character and personal values.
