I did not know Rick at the Academy as he was in the 1st Regiment and I was in the 2nd. Our paths never crossed during our times in service. I did get to know him when he took over the duties of Class Scribe and worked closely with him these past 12 years. I considered him one of my very close friends even though we only saw each in person at class gatherings or video conferences with the Class Leadership. I will miss his quick wit and infectious smile (even in his voice on the phone). Rick was a bigger than life personality and did more to bring the Class closer together than anyone else. He was a beacon on the golf course in his fuchsia golf shirt he was so proud to wear. He will be sorely missed. Be thou at peace, my brother. |
