Steve and I used to meet at the '65 golf outings. I always enjoyed the post-play gatherings at the clubhouse, where Steve could light up one of his outstanding cigars and truly relax. It was then that I would learn from him about his historic Virginia tree farm. He would also explain to me how he got involved at the state level with membership in some advisory board. I thought his passion for this activity was a clear transfer from his passion for the Marine Corps. In addition to Duty, Honor, Country, Steve was a firm adherent to Semper Fidelis! Be Thou at peace, Steve! |
