Although, we were in different regiments, I knew Doug a little from our time at Camp Buckner. I was fortunate to go to the FA Advanced Course with him for 9 months where we became best of friends. Doug was a terrific friend... bright, humorous and good natured. Although we were never stationed together, I stopped to see him and his lovely wife, Diane, every time I visited Washington. We would talk and laugh for hours. Doug kept a keg of beer in the family room that we frequently tested for quality and correct temperature. Our class is greatly diminished by Doug's loss.
