| I am saddened by the premature passing of Don Parcells. My sister, Wendy, graduated with him from River Dell High School in '61. I played football at River Dell class of '65. We went to Army games just to watch Don play. He was every bit a great role model and hero. After he was wounded and came back from Vietnam, we were all very happy to see that he looked great. The last time I saw him (except on the sidelines on TV once or twice) was at the local Dairy Queen (a popular meeting place) with his wife, Toodles Maroney (sp?), another River Dell grad. Disclosure: I am sure Don never knew me. I was just a kid who looked up to him, and I am very sorry to see him go. |
