Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Terry Ryan on April 4, 2016:

Bob, you left us too soon. Such great memories of you at Bradens along with Freddie Grates, Jon King, Dumbrowsky, Rumley, Blaha, Jamie Bryant, etc. etc. Your mischievous smile and brash confidence made us all more ready to be cadets, particularly this hay seed from Nebraska. I remember your studious approach to finding exact angles and methods of ignition for naturally produced methane gas while cloaked under a blanket after lights out. Who knew how many bars were on main street in Newburg before you conducted the mission to have a drink in every one on Saturday night? And now no one remembers. And you lead us in clearing land for Sully along the Hudson highlands for disciplinary reasons.

I could go on, but I fast forward to the last trip I had with you, Russ Campbell and Jim Ferguson to issue the oath to exchange cadets at the Coast Guard Academy. What fun, laughing all the way up and back to CT.

You have always been such a great friend to us all. God Speed! Say a good word for the rest of us up that away would you?
