Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Tom Abraham on April 4, 2016:

This is a shocker and hard to take. Bob was always as big as life gets. Always ready to spring a prank, tell a joke, or just make a friend feel good. He, Tim Vogel, and I were 3 of 5 on the 2d class AOT vacation touring with B-4 bags tied to the bumpers of a VW Beatle touring the coast of Normandy, Paris, Hamburg, Copenhagen, and everything in between. We occasionally slept in a bed, occasionally ate a meal but always had a memorable time. After Vietnam we spent time together at Ft Holabird when our good friend Freddy Grates checked in. Pranks, jokes, and deep bonding happened between 3 brothers. Bob was a good cadet, a great lacrosse player, a good officer, and a great friend. He had many great friends and will be sorely missed. Well done, Bob. See you on the other side.
