Be Thou At Peace

Posted by John E$. PRITCHARD on July 15, 2017:

Sir, I knew about you through reading Atkinson's book The Long Gray Line. I was in the United States Army from 1967-1969 but unfortunately not in Vietnam. They sent me to Germany because they found out I took German and French when I was in High School. I'm sorry to say that I had never served with and under you, as you were one fine Army officer with a Diana-like charisma both as a cadet and an officer in the United States Army. You sacrificed your life to save your men. Well done, Sir! Be thou at peace.
