Although I never had the opportunity to meet and know Lieutenant Hayes, I want to thank him for the service and sacrifice he rendered for our country. I learned of this great man and his friends by reading "The Long Gray Line" and I thank God frequently for West Point and the men and women who serve and pay the price for our freedom.
