Be Thou At Peace

| Jack and I were in Company E-2 plebe year and, as fate would have it, we were roommates for part of plebe year. We became very close friends. Jack was part of my wedding party on June 11, 1966. I went to Europe for my first assignment, and read in Army Times that Jack was a casualty of the Viet Nam war. I lost a classmate, a roommate, a friend and a brother. Jack was the nicest, kindest person I ever met. I sat down and cried. Just writing this brings tears to my eyes 45 years later. Jack we miss you, but I am glad you were a part of my life. |
