Why do the best men among us die and others live when they should have died? Sir, I don't know you, nor would I have ever had the opportunity to due to my age. I only know you through history, and through a friend of mine was with you on The Hill. He helped your classmate (can't remember which one at this time, sorry) take you off of that place in order to start your long journey home. Welcome Home Sir, be thou at peace. Every time I go to The Wall, I look for your name. I don't know why, but I hope to meet you someday in the presence of our Lord. Maybe then I can understand why some of my friends died and I did not. Until then, you are not forgotten. I would like to hear from anyone who knew Pete. |
