Be Thou At Peace

CASILLO - Vincent Lawrence was born in Brooklyn on April 24, 1943, born to Lawrence and Mary Casillo. On the day of his birth his doctor predicted he would be a football player. Vince grew up to be 6'4" and 240 pounds. Vince was a devoted family man. He leaves behind his wife Phyllis, son Andrew, daughter Ariana, and 5 grandchildren, a brother Joseph. Vince graduated from Carey H.S. with many honors, an All-Metropolitan Area Football Player and N.Y.S. Shotput Champion in 1961. His record still stands at Carey H.S. Vince went on to play football at West Point from '61-'65. His career was highlighted by making the Weekly All East and Weekly All-American Teams. In 1966, Nassau County proclaimed a Vince Casillo Day and had a parade in his honor in Franklin Square. After retiring as an Army Captain, Vince founded a Disabled Veterans Construction Company. The company upgrades care at Veterans Hospitals. Vince was a true leader and role model for countless people who were fortunate enough to know him. We will miss him dearly. Due to Covid, internment plans will be scheduled for the near future.
