Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Tad Ono on March 30, 2021:

Howie and I competed against each other in gymnastics in NYC in high school. He was known as one of the best on the floor. He followed me to WP a year after me and we became teammates and good friends. Hard worker and as nice as a guy can be, Howie was one of the most popular guys on the team and in the Corps. He would always greet you with his warm, sweet smile. We were both in L-1 my senior year when he seriously considered leaving. He never liked the system. But we talked him out of leaving and he was elected by his teammates in his senior year as the captain of the team. It did not surprise me to read all the accolades of Howie as an Army leader. He was like a younger brother to me. I still miss him. Well done, Howie, rest in peace.
