Be Thou At Peace

Posted by John J. Strapac on August 3, 2014:

Bill was a personal friend, especially after he moved to Tucson. We also worked together for a while at Raytheon.

Our special connection was before Bill went to WP. His father, Col. Whelihan '33 was Commander of Ft. Totten, located in Bayside Long Island, NY, where my father was a civil service employee. Bill would tell me about the frequent visits made by my father to Col. Whelihan's home where they would usually always talk about their sons going to WP. I find it amazing that we both wound up at WP and shared this special connection from our fathers' relationship.

Bill was indeed special. An extremely caring, thoughtful and great human being who died much too soon. He always gave more to others than he received and I will always remember him.
