Be Thou At Peace

Cut and pasted from the 24 Mar 2021 Army Rugby Newsletter:

"We were just notified of the loss of yet another one of our 1967 West Point Brothers. JERRY WALKER of Spring, Texas, passed away yesterday. He was a real gentle giant and great classmate. Here we are in March of 1967 in the Notre Dame stadium after winning the National Collegiate Rugby Championship. Jerry is second from the left in the back row. I can be seen as the first guy on the right in the back row (with the Army Rugby shirt on) with my arm around JIM BRIERLY - who was one of our 29 classmates who lost his life during the Vietnam War.

I remember going on a great camping/fishing/hiking expedition with Jerry and 25 other classmates to a mountain site North of Cody, Wyoming several years ago. Jerry was riding a mule and got thrown off. Fortunately, one of our other classmates on the trip, CARL SAVORY (who is in the Ranger Hall of Fame), was a doctor, and patched him right up. Great memories. You will be greatly missed, Jerry. Rest in Peace. Unsurpassed. Our great Captain, CHAD KECK, can be seen at the left front with his arm on his leg."

- from '67 classmate, Colin Mahle
