| We continue to mourn the absence of LTG (Ret) Burnette and our beloved Sue Burnette. I served in Mainz-Gonsenheim, West Germany as a company commander for then-LTC Burnette, CO/2-87 IN, in 1st Bde/8th ID (Mech). His calm, positive and professional leadership-by-example was the primary factor in our successful execution of a demanding optempo. Meeting him over the ensuing years (DC; Bragg; JRTC; Afghanistan) was always a pleasure; he enjoyed his role as a mentor to many younger Army leaders. We pray for Peace for the Burnette Family - RLTW/AATW, Jim. |
