Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Douglas Kingery on May 17, 2013:

To me Dolf will always be "Captain Carlson". I served under him in Vietnam when he was the commanding officer of Charlie Company, 2nd Bn 5th Cavalry. He epitomized what a soldier should be. His decisions on January 2 and 3, 1972 saved many soldiers lives in Charlie Company, including mine. He was the bravest man I have ever met, fearless and steadfast in combat. God Bless you skipper, and rest in peace. I trust the boss upstairs will ensure we meet again.
