| As a C-2 Company mate, I knew Fitz well. I always admired and respected him. Athlete, starman, humble, funny, always giving of his awesome intellect as a tutor for we lesser beings who struggled with courses that made Doug yawn. The battle which Doug and Julie fought against cancer was as inspiring as it was sad. My precious mother used to say "When we lose a good one of us, we all lose a good part of us." This maxim describes how I feel about the loss of Fitz. Rest well, brother, you were a good man and the world will be less without you in it. |
