| John, Rob Wilson and I were roommates in Beast Barracks during the first two months of West Point, which were particularly arduous. The "Big Os" philosophy was humor conquers adversity, and, at the end of each day, we always found something to laugh about. Though that was the only time I roomed with John, that exercise of "comic relief" helped me keep perspective on the remaining four years and all the subsequent years of my life. Thanks John. You were a good man, a good role model and a good friend. We will all miss you, but I am sure now you have got the angels laughing every night. |
