Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Larry Sadoff on May 8, 2019:

The Class of 69, as the classes before and after us, was made up of a diverse group of individuals from different backgrounds, ethnicities, religions and so much more. This became apparent to me when I entered Beast Barracks some 54 years ago this July. My three person room consisted of Dave Kremenak, an All State basketball player from New Mexico, Bill Damon from Big Stone Gap Virginia, and me- a lad from Wantagh, NY whose only trip out of NY was a college recruiting trip to Rhode Island. What an eclectic mix! During the next two whirlwind months of Beast in the few spare moments we had, I got to know Bill. I found him a man of principle and integrity- a fine human being. Although our paths did not cross after graduation, I am sure the same values that guided him when I first met Bill are the same values that guided him for the next 50 years. Rest In Peace Bill.
