Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Dale Smith on June 18, 2008:

Bill, an employee of MPRI, joined CDC's Influenza Coordinating Unit, CCID, in February 2008 and became a key member of the MPRI Plans Team as a plans and operations analyst. Bill was a brilliant strategist, planner, and accomplished writer whose impact was immediately apparent. He was instrumental in developing the Plans Unit Training that was first utilized by CDC during the March 2008 Pandemic Influenza Functional Exercise.

Bill served his country as a soldier for more than 26 years after being commissioned into the United States Army from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He continued to serve the nation and the world by assisting CDC in preparedness for pandemics and other disease threats across the globe.

Bill was a great friend and colleague who will be missed very much.
