Be Thou At Peace

From the "Howitzer" -- 1969

WILLIAM JOSEPH JOHNSON, Hays, Kansas, F-4

"Big Red Joe" was one of those natural hives to come to West Point. Having no problem with academics, his only difficulty was in digging up fifteen cents for another coke. Joe was an avid sports fan; one could always find him playing tennis, handball, basketball, or squash. Joe was also the kind of guy who was always willing to lend a helping hand. His fine personal qualities should carry him high on the ladder of success in any field.

Bowling Club 2; Cardinal Newman Forum 2; Culture Club 2. Corps of Engineers.

USMA classmate, may you rest in peace.

NB: Entry by another William Joseph (Bahr), also born in Hays, Kansas, in 1947, and also living in the Chicagoland area, but who didn't have the pleasure of knowing "BRJ."
