Obituary for John Payne
In memory of John Bruce Payne, born in New York City, on October 4, 1946. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Payne; his children, Jason, Chad, Jeff, Stacy and Kyle; his daughter-in-laws, Mindi and JoAnn; his son-in-law, Zach; his grandchildren Andrew, Alyse and Grace; his sister, Cathy Frymire; his brother, Mike Payne and numerous other family members.

John was a 1969 graduate of West Point, an Air Force pilot, and a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army. He finished medical school in 1977 to become a neurosurgeon. He married his wife, Pamela, on March 5, 1977 and was married 38 years. He was passionate about his patients, the healthcare system, and politics. His hobbies included cycling, snow skiing, handball, racquetball, and basketball. He loved movies, reading, enjoyed traveling and especially to the mountains. By far his biggest accomplishment was his five children.

John was a great man, amazing father, incredible PaPa, and one compassionate and talented doctor. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is now up in Heaven reunited with his parents and is watching over his loved ones, just as he did here on earth.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers that you make a donation to the American Brain Tumor Association at www.abta.org. This was his passion as a neurosurgeon. Also, having been in the armed forces, you can consider a donation to the Wounded Warriors Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm at the 121 Community Church of Grapevine at 840 Mustang Dr., Grapevine, TX 76051.
