Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Bob Allardice on April 7, 2007:

Nick Stafford - a very good friend and a B. Arnold and the Traitors groupie! Pete Dencker and I were in his wedding at Ft. Sill Ok. following graduation. High Catholic mass - the priest is rambling on and gets a look at Linda and without breaking stride -murmurs to us - get her a chair - which we did w/o breaking ranks - just passed it up. Then when they knelt before the rail on the bottom of Nick's shoes was printed -"HELP ME". We became great friends when I moved to Dallas. By that time there were an additional 4 Staffords and I knew & still know them all. In case anybody missed it - his son - Jimmy- came to our 35th reunion and had a great time as well.
PS - met Nick and his new bride when they showed up in Hawaii for their honeymoon!! He got me interested again in the West Point interservice Academy golf outing and we shared many a good time w/our foursome when we played in them.
We miss you my friend !! God Bless you and all the Staffords !
