Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Hugh L. Mills, Jr. LTC ret USA on May 30, 2008:

I was Randy's CO when he arrived in Schweinfurt Germany in 1970. He was an MI officer branch assigned to Armor for two years as I recall. He was a fine officer and a good friend. He loved to park his green Jag in the CO's parking space under my officer window to annoy me. He and I were the same age as I was up from the ranks via OCS and I was just out of a combat assignment in Viet Nam. B 2/64 Armor was my first command. Randy was a great leader and officer and had only one weakness and that was for the ladies! I left the command in late 1970 and went back to Viet Nam in 1971/72 and ran into Randy in the Saigon PX where he was on an MI assignment. I am not aware of the circumstances of his death but would love to hear from classmates and others who may have served with Randy. Of the unforgetable characters in my life, Randy was a great one.
