Be Thou At Peace

| Barry was my first roommate in Company A-1. He was such a nice guy. Smart, funny, and even tempered. Nothing seemed to rattle him. He spent many hours in the pool with Corps Squad swimming, setting Academy record after record, never once bragging about his accomplishments -Ron Hudak and I were pretty much oblivious to his early successes. As a result of the commitment to swimming, Barry was always ready to turn the lights out around ten and disappear under the brown boy...generally before taps. So it came as quite a shock to me that academics came as naturally as his butterfly stroke. This guy who generally went to bed a couple hours before I did each night, was a star man. |
