Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Tom Mylan on February 8, 2011:

I met Alex at Ft. Leonard Wood in late 1972 or 1973. At the time I was a First Lieutenant just back from Vietman. Alex was a Captain and took me under his wing. We became good friends. He was very enjoyable to be around and also gave me a lot of good advice. Alex had a much tougher tour in Vietnam than I did and we talked about our tours quite lot. I also met Carolee at Ft Leonard Wood. The last time I remember seeing Alex and Carolee was at their quarters at Ft Leonard Wood in 1974 right after Mara was born. March 2009 I got a call from Alex. We had a very enjoyable conversation and we have been corresponding by e-mail since. Alex's sudden passing is a great loss to all who knew him and I will greatly miss hearing from him. Alex and Carolee had three wonderful children and that is a pretty good legacy in itself.

Sincerely - Tom Mylan
