Be Thou At Peace

Posted by William H. Ward on August 4, 2017:

We've all reached the time of Life when it seems, as the poet W. H. Auden indicated in the title of one of his poems, "Now the Leaves are Falling Fast."

Regrettably, Tom McCord was one of our Classmates I didn't personally know, but one whom I admired from afar.

I was particularly impressed with his personal write-up in our Legacy Book and was tempted to contact him several times. He would have no doubt been most gracious to hear from me, but I realize that any benefit would have been more mine than his.

Tom McCord was a man who stepped forward at the Call and did his Duty in a most spectacular way, flying Cobras in Vietnam and afterwards in the Reserves, and then following his Life's Dream to equally spectacular successes in Family, Profession, and his personal dream of building/restoring super hotrods and muscle cars.

He was a man I definitely admired from afar. Certainly a Life well-lived.

What more can one say?
