Sadly, I got to know Al only toward the end of his career and life. We first met in the Fall of 2009 when he was at Fort Benning in his post-Army career as a consultant. We had a brief interchange there, and later we sat at the same table at a Founder's Day event at Fort Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina where he and his wife were most congenial. From the prominent photo of him at the 45th reunion, he seemed to be enjoying the event to the fullest. He is another of our number who has left us all too soon. Godspeed, Al Leister!
