Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Joyce Dawley Clark on October 7, 2021:

Fifty years have passed and I never knew you were taken in the Vietnam War. I only knew you briefly one summer. We met at the Post General's Garden Party at Ft. Knox. I was with another cadet and you were with my best friend. We met again after the party a few times while you were in for summer training. My parents told me you came by to see them before you left to go back to West Point. I remember you as a kind sweet person who had a great outlook on life. Fun to be with, a great conversationalist and my mom liked you. I wish I could have said goodbye, but I was working in the city and didn't get home before you went back to New York. Farewell my summer acquaintance, fond memories of our time together. God bless you for your sacrifice and service. Joyce
