Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Paul Franke on January 12, 2007:

A true friend has gone before us, much to soon, but with the dignity and class that only Penn Watkinson could display. His thoughts were always of others and never himself, even in the toughest of times. He took the time, even as time was slipping to keep E-1 together with his emails, updates, and light hearted humor. He truely lived the E-1 motto of "Illegtimus non carborundum", and he never did let it get him down. He was a true fighter, at the last reunion we laughed as "Ranger" Watkinson told me "I made it through Beast and Ranger School, I can certainly make it through this", a fighting spirit that allowed him to fight on as long as he did. He has crossed the river to join the other memebers of the "Long Gray Line" who are preparing the way for us to one day join them. Who could ever, or will ever forget his laugh and smile, I know I won't. God Bless
