I was a year behind Jack in D-1, and Jack was one of our favorite upperclassmen, especially when we were plebes. Jack McGross, as we affectionately called him, was also my next-door-neighbor in Fayetteville, N.C. in the mid-70s, and my wife and I spent many memorable times in his home with his family, usually laughing uncontrollably at Jack's antics. He especially loved his kids, and they surely loved him - in particular his rough-and-tumble brand of living room hockey. God bless you, Jack. You were a dear friend, and one of a kind. |
