Be Thou At Peace

| I am now 72, and was reminiscing about my early Army experiences and thought I'd look up other 2nd Lieutenants that I served with back in 1970. I was saddened to learn of Dave's early passing. He and I reported to Fort Carson as newly commissioned 2Lt, he from WP, me from Syracuse University. I remember Dave as a friendly, smart, do-it-by-the book officer. We both learned soldering as we went those first few months. He was always willing to share, both his knowledge and his kindness. I'm saddened he was taken from us at such a young age. |
