| Charlie. Sweet and filled with laughter. It was Plebe Week in March 1967 when I met Charlie. Drove all the way from South Texas with the DeLaGarza family for Pete's Plebe Week. I was invited to tag along. Met Charlie first night at dinner. Then I was his dance partner/date at the ball. We stayed in touch for a year or so. He wrote such sweet poems to me. He touched my heart and I never forgot him. His copper colored hair and bright blue eyes and a grin from ear to ear. Still have pictures of him smiling generously and a heart filled with love and laughter. He was and still is a gift from God. |
