I didn't know Larry really well as a cadet. We had a few classes together from which I remembered him and I also remember him as a boxing legend in our class. But mostly I remember as a 'Force of Nature' with the "Happy Daze". From Buckner onwards, Larry and the band lifted my spirits when things were bleak and made me feel good. I didn't have contact with Larry again after graduation until last October when we reconnected. He remembered me (and I him of course) and we had a great reunion in Clemson SC while the Happy Daze played. It was clear that Larry was not well, but that didn't hold him back. He was still as "fierce" (as defined at his funeral) and passionate as I remembered from our cadet days. Godspeed Larry, you will be missed. Dave P. |
