Upon meeting John for the first time during Beast Barracks in 1970, I was immediately impressed by his outgoing personality and genuine concern for all around him. When he discovered that we were both from the same part of Texas, he quickly took me under his wing and offered a sanctuary in a place that was not always hospitable to a Plebe. While our time together at West Point was less than a year as he graduated and moved on, I will be forever grateful for our friendship. My sincere condolences to his loved ones and I am certain that we will meet again. Thank You, John, for all that you have accomplished in your life and Well Done! |
