| I was only just speaking of James Baugh, virtually at the time of his death, with the release of the information on 2LT Spenser Rapone, West Point's home-grown "Fifth Columnist". I was comparing James Baugh's surveillance of me as a plebe -he was my 1st Beast Co CDR, and my 1st term BN Cdr in 4th Regt, and I sat on his table in the dining hall. Hard. I was reamed routinely by James Baugh for several meaningless infractions at different locations during a semester. On the other hand, somehow the Corps of Cadets couldn't identify a communist sympathizer in their midst over a four year period? Hmmm. James Baugh, along with several others, changed the course of my life, for the better actually, though I don't think that was his/their intention. I am grateful. |
