Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Jody Fink on October 17, 2001:

I want to thank everybody for their kind and thoughful comments about Kingsley. Many of you have told me stories about your interactions with Kingsley at West Point and they have been very thoughtful and touching. There are a lot of things that I didn't know because Kingsley, in his usual manner, tried not to have a lot of contact with me as he was a Firstie and I was a Plebe. He tried not to cause additional hardship on me and tried to "protect me" from additional harassment of being his brother and my also being a football player. I know from several incidents though that he had people looking out for me in different ways. Kingsley was more special to people than I ever realized and I am very happy that people knew him for who and what he was and for what he stood for. I know that he was my hero in many ways, but all of you have reinforced what I had known for 48 years.
