I worked with Raymond at the Handelsblatt (Germany's Wall Street Journal) in the 90's, and he invariably brought humour and clarity to even the most difficult situations. He went on to lead Germany's key engineering publication VDI-Nachrichten for many years with great distinction. We never did get to play the French horn together.
